TICKETS ON SALE NOW AT THREE OFFICIAL TICKET OFFICES IN PORT CREDIT

The 2009 Tim Horton's Southside Shuffle (aka The Port Credit Blues and Jazz Festival) kicks off this Friday at 7:30pm at Port Credit Memorial Park when Blackburn takes to the main stage. Roxanne Potvin follows at 8:30pm. And at 10:00pm The Funk Brothers return to the Shuffle for their second year in a row.

On Saturday, Lakeshore Road will be closed between Stavebank and Hurontario for the FREE "Shuffle Alley" -- with dozens of live bands playing from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. If you are going to be anywhere near Port Credit next weekend, don't miss this one! The full schedule is available on the Southside Shuffle's Web site.

Saturday night's headliner is none other than Lighthouse, on the main stage at 10:00pm. Opening up for Lighthouse are Manteca at 7:30pm and David Wilcox at 8:30pm.

On Sunday, Treasa Levasseur will be on the main stage at 4:00pm. Colin Linden follows at 5:30pm and Downchild and Friends close out the show starting at 7:00pm.

Throughout the weekend, additional free shows will be taking place on the Southside Shuffle Southstage, at Dave de Eyre Square (both located in Port Credit Memorial Park) as well as most clubs, pubs and restaurants in Port Credit. And don't miss the Mississippi Jamstage in the Port Credit Legion on Front St. N. The Jamstage is open each night from 10:00pm until 3:00am and you never know who is going to sit in.

Plenty of festivities commemorate Opening Day

(Toronto, ON) The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) announced today that admission to the fair on Friday, August 21, 2009 will be just $1.75 in celebration of the 175th Anniversary of the City of Toronto. The CNE has planned a number of festivities for this special day. In addition to the full 2009 roster of daily attractions (www.TheEx.com), Opening Day will feature free birthday cupcakes for the first 175 people, special ride coupons for $17.50, a variety of concessions and games for $1.75, and the Toronto Song Contest Finals.

2008 Bowling for Blues will be held Saturday, May 24th at Classic Bowl, Winston Churchill & Dundas, Mississauga.

A Southside Shuffle pre-festival tradition, Bowling for Blues, is a fundraising event benefitting Sick Kids Hospital and The Southside Shuffle.

$50 per bowler or $250 for a team of five.
